The short version
Board Together keeps scores, settings, and any boards you make on your device. It does not use ads, tracking, or cloud saves. The one exception is store purchase handling by Apple or Google.

Data the app keeps locally
- Local high scores, including the player names you type on the round-summary screen, plus totals for boards solved and games played.
- Your saved settings: timer, hearts, board defaults, theme, handwriting font, sound, vibration, accessibility choices, and saved player names.
- Recent boards, so the same boards do not repeat too soon.
- Any custom boards you create or import on the device.
- On iPhone, iPad, and Android, a local record of which optional purchases you own, so extra content stays available.
In-app purchases
Board Together: Math Practice on iPhone, iPad, and Android is playable for free and offers optional one-time purchases, such as extra board packs and a themes bundle. The core game does not require any purchase. Board Together: Math Plus on Mac includes the board packs and themes without in-app purchases.
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. We do not receive or store your name, payment-card number, or billing address. Apple or Google handles that information under its own privacy policy. To restore purchased content, the app checks your purchase history on that device.
Data the app does not require
- No Eat Chess sign-in.
- No ads or tracking tools.
- No cloud save. Shared-screen co-op and local two-device play stay local to your devices.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
App stores and your device
The iPhone, iPad, and Mac versions are distributed through Apple's App Store, and the Android version is distributed through Google Play. Apple, Google, and your device may collect install, purchase, crash, and basic use reports while running their stores and devices. Their own privacy policies cover that data. If you choose to share crash reports with developers, Apple or Google may send us anonymous reports. We use those only to fix bugs.
Children
Board Together is suitable for all ages, including kids and families. The app does not collect personal information from anyone, child or adult. Because of that, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Removing local data
The app stores progress, settings, and custom boards on your device. Deleting the app removes that data. Reset High Scores also clears local records without a reinstall. On iPhone, iPad, and Android, purchases are tied to your Apple ID or Google Play profile rather than stored by us, and can be restored with Restore Purchases.
This website
This site is hosted by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may see basic request details, such as your IP address, request time, and browser type. Cloudflare uses those details to keep the site safe, block abuse, serve pages faster, and make basic site reports. If Cloudflare Web Analytics is on for this domain, Cloudflare may add its own script. This site does not set ad cookies or share information with marketers. Fonts load from eatchess.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app or site handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. If you keep using the app or site after that, you accept the new policy.
