The short version

Royal Merge keeps game progress, settings, stats, and local purchase records on your device. It does not use ads, tracking, or cloud saves.

Who runs this

This game and this site are operated by Eat Chess Games ("we", "us"). If you have any privacy questions, email hello@eatchess.com.

Data the app keeps locally

  • The current saved game, including the board, score, moves for the active run, timers, and match settings.
  • Lifetime stats, such as best score, total moves, total merges, and runs played.
  • Your settings, such as vibration, sound, reduced motion, theme, chess set, seating, and display choices in the native apps.
  • Optional sets, themes, and badges you bought through the App Store or Google Play, saved locally so they stay available.

Data the app does not require

  • No Eat Chess sign-in.
  • No ads or tracking tools.
  • No online multiplayer or cloud save.
  • No location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.

Game Center

Official Solo runs can use Apple Game Center for high scores and achievements if Game Center is enabled. Apple handles Game Center under Apple's own privacy policy.

In-app purchases

Royal Merge offers optional sets, themes, bundles, and a Royal Patron badge through the App Store in the iPhone and iPad app. Apple handles those purchases. We do not see your payment information. Apple records the purchase under your Apple ID and its own privacy policy. The app saves a local purchase record so it knows which extras you own. Nothing about the purchase leaves your device through us. On Android, Google Play handles purchases under Google's own privacy policy, and the app saves the matching purchase record locally in the same way.

App stores and your device

The iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch versions come from Apple's App Store. The Android version comes from Google Play. Apple, Google, and your device may collect install, purchase, crash, and basic use reports. Their privacy policies cover that data. If you share crash reports with developers, Apple or Google may send us reports. We use those only to fix bugs.

Sharing a Royal Recap

Royal Merge can make a result image when you tap Share Result. The image is made on your device, saved briefly inside the app, and sent to the share menu only after you choose to share it. The app does not upload the image, choose where it goes, or see where you send it.

Children

Royal Merge is made for kids, adults, and families. The app does not collect personal information from anyone. Because of that, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Removing local data

The app stores progress and stats on your device only. Removing the app removes that data. The reset option in the app also clears local progress without a reinstall.

Royal Merge Web

The browser version at eatchess.com/merge/play/ keeps the current run and settings in your browser on your device. It also saves game files so the game loads faster next time. Nothing about your play is sent to us. Clearing this site's browsing data removes the saved run and settings.
